About Tom:
Tom is a new member of the Pinnacle Behavioral Hwealth Team; he joins Pinnacle after most recently working for over two years at an outpatient facility with those experiencing serious mental health issues. His services include individual, couples and group therapy in the treatment of relieving mood issues (depression, anxiety), reduction of OCD - obsessive compulsive behavior,  supportive counseling for individuals with persistent mental health issues, recovery work with men and women to reduce the shame and victimization experienced as sexual abuse survivors as well as LGBTQ identity, acceptance and intimacy challenges. Tom’s goal is to help each person discover the path to settle struggles and to lessen the emotional strain one experience’s in his or her life. The Philosophy that he follows when working with a client is to assist the person in developing a better interpretation of their situation, learn new skills to improve their management of the distress that the issue is bringing to their life, and to secure increased personal well being. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Siena College, a Masters in Divinity from St. Mary’s University, Baltimore, MD., and a Masters in Counseling from the College of St. Rose. Tom is a board member of the Capital Chapter of NY Mental Health Counselors Assoc.(NYMHCA), and a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA)
